How wedding days run in Los Angeles
The venue you choose sets the shape of the day. These three shapes come up most often at the venues on this page. They are drawn from weddings we have photographed, with times rounded and blended, and are a starting point to adapt with your planner.
Church ceremony, then a hotel or club reception
- 12:30 PMCoverage begins at the hotel. Details, final hair and makeup, getting into dress and suit.
- 2:15 PMTravel to the church. Guests arriving and the interior photographed before the service.
- 3:00 PMCeremony. Many parishes set where photographers may stand, so we confirm the rules in advance.
- 4:00 PMFamily formals at the church, then wedding party photographs outside.
- 4:45 PMDrive to the reception. Couple portraits around the building before guests arrive.
- 5:30 PMCocktail hour, with the room photographed while it is still empty.
- 6:30 PMGrand entrance, dinner and toasts.
- 8:00 PMFirst dance, cake cutting and open dancing, then coverage concludes.
Ceremony and reception at one historic club or estate
