People come herefor the light.
Santa Barbara is the one part of Southern California where couples choose the location primarily for how it looks, and they are right to. White stucco and red tile bounce warm light back onto faces instead of swallowing it, the hills go gold about an hour before anyone expects, and the ocean keeps the afternoon haze soft rather than flat.
The risk is filming it like a postcard. A wedding film that is only architecture and drone footage stops being about the two people getting married. We shoot the setting generously, then cut it around the faces — the place should feel like the reason you are there, not the subject.

Before you ask.
Do you charge travel for Santa Barbara?
For most Santa Barbara and Ventura weddings we include travel and stay locally the night before. Anything north of Santa Ynez we quote individually so there are no surprises.
Can you film a courthouse ceremony?
Yes. The Santa Barbara Courthouse is one of the most filmable civic buildings in the state, but it is a public space with real time limits, so we plan a tight shot list and work quickly rather than treating it like a private venue.
Do you use drones?
Only where it is legal and licensed, and only when it earns its place in the edit. Santa Barbara tempts people into far too much aerial footage; a few seconds of it is usually worth more than a minute.
