Ventura, California, pairs a historic downtown with miles of open Pacific coastline, giving couples a rare mix of landmark architecture and oceanfront scenery within the same city. From a 1920s Spanish Revival hotel to a bluff-top inn overlooking the water, Ventura’s venues draw on the city’s maritime and mission-era history. Just north of Los Angeles and a world away from its pace, Ventura offers beachfront ballrooms, restored courtyards, and harbor views for couples planning a coastal California wedding.

The Pierpont Inn
Perched on a bluff above the Pacific, The Pierpont Inn has welcomed guests since 1910 and remains one of Ventura’s most storied properties, designed by noted architect Sumner P. Hunt. Couples can exchange vows in the rose garden gazebo or on the oceanfront bluff itself, with the coastline as a backdrop.
The Pierpont Pavilion hosts receptions for up to 220 guests, and the inn’s 79 guest rooms and suites make it easy for out-of-town family and wedding parties to stay on-site for the whole celebration.
Hotel San Buena
Originally built in 1928, Hotel San Buena is a Spanish Revival landmark in downtown Ventura that reopened in 2024 after a full restoration. The Center Courtyard, centered on a fountain, is a natural setting for ceremonies surrounded by the hotel’s original architecture.
