Westlake Village Inn
A 17-acre lakeside resort in the Conejo Valley, open since 1968, with gardens, a working vineyard, and Santa Monica Mountains views — where Lulan Studio has photographed multiple weddings since 2021.
A 17-acre lakeside resort in the Conejo Valley
Welcoming guests since 1968, Westlake Village Inn is a 156-room resort and spa set across 17 lakeside acres, with courtyards, fountains, an on-site vineyard, cobblestone pathways, and gazebos and arbors throughout the property. Ceremonies are held at one of several outdoor garden and lakeside sites — the Tuscan Garden, the Lakeside Arbor, and a secluded Waterfall near the main lobby are the three most detailed on the venue's own site — while receptions move indoors to one of a handful of named ballrooms, most notably the bi-level Provence Room with its panoramic lake and golf-course views.

A repeat venue for us since 2021
We've photographed multiple weddings at Westlake Village Inn since 2021, most recently a Tuscan Garden ceremony and Provence Room reception. We've worked directly with the venue's event coordinators and alongside outside planners on each booking, and know the property's vendor requirements and its garden-to-ballroom flow well — including that ceremony and reception spaces sit apart on the 17-acre grounds, so we plan our coverage around the walk between them.
Good to know before you book
- All outside vendors (photo/video, florist, rentals, DJ, hair & makeup) must sign the venue's Vendor Code of Conduct and submit a Certificate of Insurance
- Ceremony and reception spaces sit apart on the 17-acre property — vendors typically plan for separate load-in points
- A complimentary overnight courtyard suite is offered to the couple when both ceremony and reception are booked on-site
- No pricing is published by the venue — confirm current rates directly with Westlake Village Inn's sales team
Where we like to shoot
- The Tuscan Garden's floral arbor pathway and rustic stone fountain
- The Lakeside Arbor, framed by blooming greenery with the lake behind
- The secluded, palm-lined Waterfall near the main lobby
- The Provence Room's chandeliers and lake-view patio for reception and sunset portraits
What couples and guests notice about Westlake Village Inn
A genuine 17-acre resort with a lake, a working vineyard, and mountain views — enough variety on one property to cover a full wedding day.
Multiple weddings here since 2021 mean we know the venue's vendor requirements, load-in logistics, and best light well ahead of the day.
Ceremony and reception spaces aren't always close together, and outside vendors need a Certificate of Insurance and signed conduct form in place ahead of time — plan for both.

Photographing Westlake Village Inn
The Lakeside Arbor catches phenomenal late-afternoon light, with the water and the Santa Monica Mountains acting as natural reflectors to soften shadows and warm skin tones — schedule the ceremony for late golden hour here. Plan couple portraits in the Tuscan Garden roughly 90 minutes before sunset, when vineyard rows become directional leading lines.
The 17 acres offer distinct backdrops without leaving the property: lakeside paths with open sky and water reflections for airy romantic frames, the waterfall and garden nooks for intimate close-ups, and the mature Tuscan architecture for timeless European-feeling imagery. Allow 20–30 minutes to move between the lake, gardens, and reception rooms.
Engagement sessions at Westlake Village Inn
The lake, vineyard gardens, and waterfall make an ideal on-property engagement or pre-wedding session, especially paired with a Stonehaus wine tasting.
