WEDDING FILMS — SAN DIEGO

Soft mornings.Long golden evenings.

San Diego gives you two kinds of light in one day, and they are nothing alike. The marine layer sits over the coast through the morning and turns everything soft and even — beautiful, forgiving, and almost shadowless. Then it burns off, and by late afternoon the inland valleys around Fallbrook and Ramona are as warm and directional as anywhere in California.

Filming here is largely about anticipating that turn. We scout where the sun will actually be at your ceremony hour rather than where it is during the site visit, and we plan portrait time around the burn-off instead of fighting it.

Common questions

Before you ask.

Do you travel from Los Angeles for San Diego weddings?

Yes, and there is no travel fee within San Diego County. We normally arrive the night before for a morning start so the drive is never part of your wedding day.

How do you handle the marine layer?

We treat it as an advantage rather than a problem. Overcast coastal light is the most flattering light of the day for portraits, so where the schedule allows we move portrait time earlier rather than waiting it out.

Do you film at the Fallbrook and Ramona wineries?

Regularly. Milagro, Monserate and Grand Tradition Estate are all on our list, and the inland light out there is some of the best in the county for a late-afternoon ceremony.
