About Grand Tradition Estate & Gardens

Tucked into the avocado-country hills of Fallbrook, Grand Tradition Estate & Gardens has hosted weddings since 1984, when Beverly McDougal built the Beverly Mansion as the centerpiece of her property. Four decades and three family generations later, the estate spans roughly 30 acres of manicured gardens, splashing waterfalls, and a signature heart-shaped lake, with two entirely distinct wedding settings on one property.

The draw here is the all-inclusive model: catering, coordination, staffing, rentals, and the private grounds come bundled into one per-person package, so couples deal with a single team rather than a dozen vendors. Choose the Victorian-inspired Beverly Mansion on the edge of the lake, or the tropical, waterfall-fed Arbor Terrace — either way you get the entire garden setting to yourselves for the day.

Photographing Grand Tradition

The gardens photograph best in the softer light of late afternoon; the waterfalls and heart-shaped lake catch warm backlight in the hour before sunset, and the tropical Arbor Terrace foliage stays lush and shaded through midday. Spring and fall deliver the fullest blooms and most comfortable temperatures for portraits.

Signature backdrops include the multi-cascade rock waterfall at Arbor Terrace, the lakeside grand staircase and chandeliers of the Beverly Mansion, and the manicured formal-garden pathways. The variety of settings on one property means couples can move from tropical waterfall to Victorian elegance without leaving the grounds.

Engagement sessions at Grand Tradition

The estate's 30 acres of waterfalls, lake, and gardens double as a private engagement-portrait setting, and lifetime garden admission comes with every wedding package.

Setting  ·  30-acre gardens, waterfalls, heart-shaped lake

Best light  ·  Late afternoon to golden hour

Access  ·  Lifetime garden admission included for couples

Season  ·  Spring and fall for peak blooms

Ask your wedding coordinator about scheduling engagement or bridal portraits on the grounds ahead of the wedding day.

What couples love

  • Stunning waterfalls, lake, and tropical garden atmosphere that feels like a destination
  • All-inclusive packages that eliminate vendor-coordination stress
  • Professional, organized coordinators who make planning seamless
  • Food quality that consistently exceeds guest expectations
  • Two completely different venue looks — Victorian mansion or tropical terrace — on one property

Good to know

  • Pricing is all-inclusive and per-person, not an à-la-carte site fee, so compare total spend rather than rental rate
  • Guest minimums rise toward the weekend — 125 on Saturdays — which sets a floor on cost
  • A 23% service charge applies on top of per-person pricing
  • In-house catering and bar are required; only approved kosher/ethnic outside caterers are allowed
  • Fallbrook is roughly an hour from central San Diego, so plan guest travel and consider room blocks in Temecula or Carlsbad
