Milestones, not theory

Tell us the milestone. We build the ninety days that get you there.

Most mentorship sells inspiration. This one starts with the number you are trying to hit — first ten bookings, a full Saturday calendar, a six-figure year, a studio that runs without you — and works backwards into the pricing, the portfolio, the listings and the follow-up system that actually move it.

Your first ten bookings

Goal — get chosen before you are the cheapest

Early bookings are lost in the gap between the click and the reply. We fix the portfolio that gets you the click, then the first four minutes that get you the consult.

  • Cut the portfolio to the twenty frames that sell
  • Set a price floor you can defend without discounting
  • Build The Knot and Zola listings so they rank and convert
  • Write the inquiry reply and the date-check that follows it
  • Run a consult that ends in a decision, not a “let me think”
  • Contract, deposit and onboarding you can send in one link
What we watch — inquiry-to-consult rate and time to first reply

A calendar that fills itself

Goal — stop losing leads you already paid for

At this stage the leads exist; the follow-up does not. This is where the AI system goes in — instant response, a follow-up cadence across email and text, and a review engine that feeds the listings sending you the leads.

  • Instant reply to every inquiry, day or night
  • Email follow-up cadence that runs to a decision
  • Text follow-up with a clean handoff to you
  • Review requests timed to gallery delivery
  • City and venue pages that earn organic inquiries
  • A weekly report so you can see what leaked
What we watch — speed to lead, follow-up completion and booked rate

Your first six-figure year

Goal — raise revenue per wedding, not weekends worked

There are only so many Saturdays. Six figures comes from package architecture and add-ons, from second shooters and associates, and from knowing which months to protect.

  • Rebuild packages so the middle tier is the obvious one
  • Price add-ons couples actually want on the day
  • Bring on second shooters and associates without diluting the work
  • Bundle photography and videography without confusing the offer
  • Map cash flow across the off-season
  • Decide what to say no to
What we watch — average booking value and gross margin per wedding

A studio, not a solo act

Goal — the work stays the same when you are not in the room

Scaling a wedding brand is a training problem before it is a marketing problem. We work on the pipeline, the standards, and the parts of your job that can safely leave your inbox.

  • Hire and train shooters to one house style
  • Write the shot standards and the delivery promise
  • Move culling, editing and delivery onto a pipeline
  • Hand the inbox to a system and a person, in that order
  • Build the vendor and venue referral loop
  • Report on the studio weekly in fifteen minutes
What we watch — delivery turnaround and hours you personally touch per wedding

The AI system

The same system we use to answer every lead at Lulan Studio.

We are not going to hand you a list of prompts. Over two sessions we map the six pieces below onto the tools you already pay for — your inbox, your CRM, your website — and leave you with a written blueprint you can build, or hand to someone who will.

AI lead capture

Every inquiry gets a real answer in minutes, at midnight or on a wedding day, with the date checked before the couple moves on.

We set the intake questions that matter, write the first reply in your voice, and connect it to your availability so the answer is accurate rather than generic.

Web follow-up

An email cadence that keeps a warm inquiry warm until they book or tell you no — written once, sent on time, every time.

Four to six touches, each with a reason to exist: the gallery, the venue you have shot, the planning answer they did not know to ask for, the honest deadline.

Text follow-up

The channel couples actually reply on, run as a short cadence with a clean handoff to a human the moment it gets real.

We cover consent and timing, what to send and what never to automate, and how to hand a live conversation to yourself without the couple noticing a seam.

Qualification & routing

Read every inquiry for budget, date and fit, then send it down the right path instead of treating a Tuesday elopement like a 300-guest Saturday.

You get a scoring rubric you can explain out loud, plus the polite decline that protects your calendar and still leaves a referral behind.

Content & SEO engine

City pages, venue pages and real-wedding posts drafted with AI and finished by a human, so search sends you inquiries you did not pay for.

We cover the page structure that ranks for wedding search, the schema most vendor sites are missing, and a publishing rhythm you can keep during peak season.

One report

Lead generation, web follow-up and text follow-up on a single weekly page — so the question stops being “how was this month” and starts being “which step leaked”.

Four numbers, reviewed in fifteen minutes: leads in, time to first reply, follow-up completion, booked rate. Everything else is decoration.

Automation only pays off once the offer is right. That is why the AI work happens in session two — after we have looked at your portfolio, your pricing and your listings in session one.

Portrait of Lulan Wang, founder of Lulan Studio

Lulan Wang

Founder, Lulan Studio  ·  The Knot & Zola Educator

Lulan founded the studio in Los Angeles in 2016 and has since led a team through more than 2,200 weddings, shooting on Leica, Hasselblad, Super 8 and RED. The work has been published in BRIDES, Vogue, GQ, Junebug Weddings and Green Wedding Shoes, and the studio has held The Knot Hall of Fame and WeddingWire Best of Weddings every year since 2018. Lulan has photographed Jessica Alba, MrBeast and a number of other public figures.

As an educator for The Knot and Zola, Lulan teaches vendors how those marketplaces actually distribute leads — and, increasingly, how to pair them with an AI follow-up system so that the leads you win are the ones you keep. Mentorship sessions draw on both: what wins the booking, and what stops it slipping away afterwards.

The program

Two sessions. One system. Built around your studio.

$497
Two 30-minute one-on-one virtual discussions

Discussions are Q+A style, thirty focused minutes each, scheduled around your season. Bring the problem you are stuck on; we will bring what we did about it across 2,200 weddings.

Ongoing mentorship is available by application once the first two sessions are complete. We quote it after the audit, not before.

What is included

  • A pre-session audit of your site, your listings and your inquiry response time
  • Portfolio review with a specific edit, not general encouragement
  • An agenda written to your milestone before session one
  • A written AI system blueprint for your studio after session two
  • Session recordings and notes you can keep
  • Thirty days of email follow-up while you implement

Who it is for

The craft sessions are built for photographers and videographers. The business and AI sessions apply to any vendor taking wedding inquiries.

Questions

Before you apply

No. The portfolio and craft work is aimed at photographers and videographers, but the milestone planning, pricing, marketplace strategy and AI follow-up system apply to any wedding vendor who receives inquiries — planners, florists, DJs, venues and beauty teams included.

Yes. We work with the tools you already pay for rather than adding new ones, and the blueprint is written in plain language with the exact steps in order. Vendors who prefer to delegate can hand the same document to an assistant or a contractor.

Neither. It is one-on-one and virtual, built from your audit. Nothing is pre-recorded, and no two agendas are the same.

It means the marketplace advice comes from teaching inside those platforms rather than guessing at them — how listings are surfaced, what couples see before they click, and where most vendor profiles quietly lose the inquiry.

It will if you let it write unsupervised. We use it for speed and consistency — first replies, follow-up timing, draft copy — and keep a human on anything a couple will remember. The blueprint marks which is which.

Send the application and we will reply with a consultation time. Before session one we ask for your website, your marketplace listings, your current packages and pricing, and permission to send a test inquiry so we can measure your real response time.
