Cultural fluency, and an editorial eye
Hindu weddings are a celebration of love, culture, and tradition — vibrant colors, intricate rituals, and joyous festivities that span several days. Capturing them takes more than technical skill; it takes knowing what each ceremony means and when the moment inside it will happen. We bring both to every wedding, from the haldi and mehndi to the baraat, the pheras, and the reception.

Shot across Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire.

Every moment — from the exuberant dances of the Sangeet to the sacred rituals of the Pheras — documented with authenticity and grace.

Six ceremonies, photographed properly
The Hindu sequence we're booked for most often. Each one has a full guide of its own.

Haldi
A pre-wedding ritual where a paste made from turmeric, sandalwood, and other herbs is applied to the bride and groom by family and friends. This ceremony is believed to purify the couple, ward off evil spirits, and bless them with prosperity and happiness.
Haldi guide
Mehndi Ceremony
The bride's hands and feet are adorned with intricate henna designs, symbolizing joy, beauty, and spiritual awakening. The mehndi signifies the deep bond between the couple and is often accompanied by music and festivities.
Mehndi guide
Sangeet Night
A musical evening filled with dance performances, singing, and laughter, celebrating the coming together of both families. It's a joyful occasion that sets the tone for the wedding festivities.
Sangeet guide
Baraat
The groom's grand entrance on a decorated horse, elephant, or lavish vehicle, accompanied by music, dancing, and jubilant guests. This lively procession represents the groom's journey to meet his bride.
Baraat guide
Kanyadaan and Pheras
Sacred rituals where the bride's parents give her away in marriage (Kanyadaan), and the couple takes seven vows around the holy fire (Pheras), signifying their commitment to each other for seven lifetimes.
Kanyadaan guide
Under the Mandap
The four-pillared canopy the marriage happens beneath. We shoot the Jai Mala, the Madhuparka and the Saptapadi from angles agreed with your pandit beforehand, so nothing is blocked and nothing is intruded on.

“Lulan came highly recommended to us by a close friend of ours whose wedding he had photographed last year. We were initially a bit hesitant as we weren't sure if Lulan knew South Indian wedding customs well enough to be able to capture the important moments.”
“Recently married on April 3, 2026 and I totally owe Lulan Studio all the praise! We spoke to multiple photo/video teams, and ultimately decided on this team because of their energy and excitement to shoot our wedding! They were extremely responsive throughout the year of wedding planning.”
“Capturing the spirit of a day this significant is a monumental undertaking, and the tireless devotion the team showed throughout the entirety of our wedding was truly remarkable.”
