Los Angeles
Wedding Photographer

Cinematic, magazine-worthy weddings — shot on Leica, Hasselblad & other film cameras.

Lulan Studio

Lulan Studio is an award-winning Los Angeles wedding photographer working out of a studio on South Main Street in the historic core downtown. We shoot a hybrid of 35mm and medium-format film alongside digital, and we have covered weddings in nearly every corner of this county — a rooftop in the Financial District, a ranch over the 101, a temple in the Santa Monica Mountains, a chapel on the Palos Verdes cliffs.

Why we still shoot film in LA

Los Angeles light is unusually kind to film. The haze that rolls in off the Pacific softens the late sun, and film holds that glow the way digital sensors flatten it — warm highlights that roll off instead of clipping, skin that stays skin. We run both formats side by side all day, so you get the depth of analog with a digital backup on every frame that matters.

Venues we love in LA

Diverse & beautiful

Fluent in every tradition

Los Angeles is the most culturally varied wedding city in the country, and our calendar reflects it — a Persian Sofreh Aghd in Beverly Hills, a Baraat arriving at the Malibu Hindu Temple, a Chinese tea ceremony at dawn in the San Gabriel Valley, a Nigerian introduction in Inglewood. We have photographed all of it, and we know where each moment needs us to be standing.

Small ceremonies

Courthouse and city hall weddings

Not every Los Angeles wedding is a three-hundred-guest venue, and we cover the small ones with the same team and the same edit. Both LA County buildings below have their own page — the photography rules, the guest limits, the best hour of light and the portrait route once the ceremony is over. Marrying further out? The courthouses are on our Orange County and Santa Barbara pages.

Your journey with us

The experience

Planned properly and quietly run, so the day belongs to you rather than to your vendors.

01

Say hello

Tell us your date and venue. We will confirm availability and talk you through collections, film options and coverage length.

02

Plan together

We build the timeline backwards from sunset, then work around LA traffic, your venue's access rules and any cultural ceremonies.

03

Your wedding

Two formats, minimal direction. We stay out of the way and let the day happen, stepping in only when it genuinely helps.

04

Your gallery

A hand-edited gallery in four to eight weeks, plus albums and prints made to be handled rather than filed away.

Where we shoot in Los Angeles

Los Angeles wedding venues and locations we know well

Los Angeles is really a dozen wedding markets stacked on top of each other, and the venue you choose sets the whole tone of the photographs. Not all of them are venues at all — plenty of our couples marry at the Los Angeles courthouse or at Pasadena City Hall and spend the rest of the afternoon on portraits. Downtown gives you the grand historic rooms — The Majestic Downtown with its marble columns, Vibiana inside a former cathedral, the Oviatt Penthouse and its rooftop garden, the Millennium Biltmore and Alexandria Ballrooms for gilded ballroom scale, and Union Station under the vaulted ticketing hall. West of there, Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills and the Ebell of Los Angeles bring formal gardens and terraces, while The Fig House and El Cid in Highland Park and Silver Lake suit couples who want something looser and more design-led.

Head for the coast and the light changes entirely. Calamigos Ranch and Adamson House in Malibu, Wayfarers Chapel on the Palos Verdes bluffs, La Venta Inn and the Point Vicente Interpretive Center further along that headland, and the Queen Mary in Long Beach all give you ocean behind the ceremony and a hard sunset deadline worth planning around. Inland, Noor and the Storrier-Stearns Japanese Garden in Pasadena, Taglyan Complex in Hollywood, the Houdini Estate in Calabasas and Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Simi Valley trade the marine layer for warmer, longer golden hours. If you are still choosing, our guide to the top wedding venues in Los Angeles is the best place to start. If you would rather start from the photographs, our Los Angeles wedding pictures page walks through what shapes a full gallery.
