Located in Downtown Los Angeles, the Millennium Biltmore is a 1920’s hotel where many influential meetings and events have taken place in their glamorous ballrooms, such as the launch of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, and at least eight Academy Awards in the 1930’s. This dreamy venue holds so much history, and is recommended for weddings with larger guest counts to fill the room. The Greystone Mansion is part of a park owned by the City of Beverly Hills. Also known as Doheny Mansion, the Greystone Mansion and Gardens, was built in 1928 as a gift from Edward L. Doheny. The NewHall Mansion has long been a famous destination for TV and film shoots. It is located just 10 minutes from the Valencia’s Magic Mountain, and it opens to the beauty of the Heritage Valley. Designed in Queen Anne’s style and built in the 1890’s, both the interior and exterior details are breath-taking. So it is safe to say that this venue is great both indoors and out. The Ebell of Los Angeles is one of our favorite venues, mainly for its wide range of photo opportunities. This venue has great outdoor and indoor spaces for couples to plan out their entire wedding, in which the venue comprises the Lounge, Art Salon, Dining Room, Garden, and upstairs area. The establishment is also a theatre, in which the inside has the elegance of an opera house. For those of you that love old Hollywood theatre, this is the venue for you!
Tip 1: Don’t forget to visit the third floor for some cool group photos!
Tip 2: If you plan to have your ceremony elsewhere, you can get set up the garden area for stunning group photos.

The Calamigos Ranch occupies 5,500 acres of natural beauty, a short distance from the Santa Monica Mountains in Malibu. This ranch is hidden away from the city, and lends for a perfect retreat-like stay. Between 4 different rooms, you have many options between the different backdrops and guest size allowance. The Birchwood Room is the most intimate setting, and is nestled between a majestic waterfall and 100 year old weeping willows. The Redwood Room is the most historic site on Calamigos Ranch, and has a rustic lodge feel between the vines and weeping willows. The Oak Room is known for its natural stone waterfall backdrop, where the ceremony takes place on a large bridge. Both whimsical and elegant, the Pavilions at North Point are loved for its mix of nature and event space feel, not to mention the cute pictures that occur at the ferris wheel. Conclusion
We have reviewed many venues in Los Angeles and Orange County based on our limited experiences photographing weddings on the day of. Please feel free to let us know if we were incorrect in some of our tips. Also the experience may vary depending on a couples’ individual style. Elegant or boho? Outdoor or indoor? So many key differences in what each couple is looking for, but we can guarantee there is a venue you love on this list.
