About the venue

A forest grove where you don’t expect one

Twin Oaks House & Gardens is a restored 1891 Victorian estate in North San Diego County, run by Trademark Venues. What sets it apart is the ceremony site itself: a genuine forest grove with a natural stream and waterfall, unusual for a San Diego-area venue and one of its most distinctive features. From there, the day moves through a series of named garden spaces — the Turn-Post Gazebo, the vine-covered Rustic Atrium, the Braided Ivy Archway & Fountain — before ending at the string-light-lit “Heart of the Garden” reception pavilion.

Indoors, the Grand Parlor is furnished with hand-carved European antiques and mirrors and doubles as the bridal prep suite. As an all-inclusive property, in-house catering and bar service are required, with capacity generally running 150–200 guests for a combined ceremony and reception.

Note: there is a separate, unrelated venue in San Marcos also called “Twin Oaks” — the Twin Oaks Golf Course clubhouse. This page is specifically about the Deer Springs Road garden estate.

Multiple weddings, multiple seasons

We’ve photographed weddings at Twin Oaks in more than one season this past year, working with different Trademark Venues coordinators each time, alongside vendor teams spanning DJs, hair and makeup artists, and transportation. We keep full galleries on hand from these shoots, which is what we draw on when a couple asks to see what a wedding at this specific property actually looks like through a full day of light.

Good to know before you book

  • In-house catering and bar are required as part of the all-inclusive package
  • The ceremony grove has a natural stream and waterfall — a rare feature for the region
  • The Grand Parlor doubles as the bridal getting-ready suite
  • Prime spring and fall Saturdays typically book 9–15 months out

Where we like to shoot

  • The forest grove ceremony site for a naturally shaded, dramatic backdrop
  • The Braided Ivy Archway & Fountain for formal portraits
  • The Heart of the Garden pavilion once the string lights come on
  • The Grand Parlor for getting-ready detail shots
What people say

What couples and guests notice about Twin Oaks

The setting

The mature gardens, string lights, fountains, and forest grove are repeatedly described as magical and needing little added decor.

The package

The all-inclusive format — catering, coordination, decor, and a bridal assistant bundled in — is credited with removing much of the vendor-coordination stress.

The team

Coordination staff are praised as attentive and professional, though a minority of reviews mention small day-of execution slips.
