What Makes South Park Center Photograph So Well

South Park Center puts your wedding thirty floors above downtown - the City View Penthouse at 1150 South Olive is an architecturally lit event floor with the DTLA skyline wrapping every window, plus an open-air Sky Deck a few steps from the dance floor. Few Los Angeles venues give a photographer this much skyline this close.

The spaces we plan portraits around

  • The City View Penthouse - floor-to-ceiling glass and 360-degree views make the skyline the backdrop of the reception itself; at dusk the city lights read beautifully behind toasts and first dances.
  • The open-air Sky Deck - outdoor frames with the towers of the South Park district behind you, ideal for cocktail-hour candids and a night portrait under the lit buildings.
  • The rooftop helipad - the building offers private access to its FAA-approved helipad, one of the few in downtown LA, and an unforgettable spot for a couple portrait above the city.

Timeline advice for South Park Center

High-rise venues live and die by dusk: the twenty minutes when the sky still holds color and the city lights come on is the frame everyone remembers, so we build the schedule backward from it. Inside the penthouse, coverage stays consistent at any hour thanks to the architectural lighting, and formals move quickly with everything on one floor.
