Oceanfront La Jolla weddings, steps from the Wedding Bowl at Cuvier Park — by Lulan Studio.
Cuvier Club by Wedgewood Weddings sits at 7776 Eads Ave in the heart of La Jolla, one block from the Pacific and just steps from the Wedding Bowl at Cuvier Park. It pairs a classic seaside clubhouse and light-filled ballroom with the most photographed stretch of coastline in San Diego.
We photograph weddings all over La Jolla, and the Cuvier Club is one of our favorite San Diego venues for one simple reason: couples get a true ballroom celebration and dramatic clifftop scenery inside a two-minute walk. Ceremonies often happen at the Wedding Bowl, the grassy amphitheater above the cove, followed by cocktail hour and reception inside the club.
Pros
- Two minutes on foot from the Wedding Bowl at Cuvier Park, the most famous oceanfront ceremony site in La Jolla, so you can have clifftop vows and a full ballroom reception in one day.
- All-inclusive Wedgewood Weddings planning keeps the day running on schedule, which means more time for portraits.
- La Jolla Cove, the Coast Walk Trail, and the sandstone sea cliffs are minutes away for golden-hour photos.
- The indoor ballroom keeps your reception weather-proof, a real advantage on the coast where the marine layer can roll in fast.
Getting Ready at Cuvier Club
The club gives us clean, bright spaces for prep coverage: dress and detail shots, first reactions, and candids with your wedding party before the ceremony. If you are getting ready at a nearby La Jolla hotel instead, we split our team so both sides of the morning are covered.

Couple’s Session in La Jolla
This is why you book a La Jolla venue. Within a short walk of the Cuvier Club you have the Wedding Bowl lawn, the palm-lined edge of Cuvier Park, Coast Walk views over the cove, and the cliffs above the Pacific. We plan your couple’s session around golden hour, when the west-facing coastline lights up. Ten unhurried minutes outside is usually all it takes for the portraits that end up framed.

Wedding Ceremony
Most of our Cuvier Club couples exchange vows at the Wedding Bowl at Cuvier Park, the grass amphitheater perched above the ocean just down the street, then walk their guests over to the club for cocktail hour. The venue also hosts ceremonies on site when couples want everything under one roof. Either way we scout our angles in advance, so the processional, the vows, and the first kiss are covered from both sides without ever blocking a guest view.
Wedding Reception
Inside, the ballroom carries the night: grand entrance, toasts, first dance, and a packed dance floor. We bring off-camera lighting so skin tones stay true after sunset and the room reads as elegant in photos as it feels in person. Before the evening winds down we steal you away for a five-minute night portrait, then finish with the grand exit.

Cuvier Club Wedding FAQ
Where do couples take photos at the Cuvier Club?
The Wedding Bowl at Cuvier Park, the palm trees along the park edge, the Coast Walk overlooks, and the clubhouse itself. Everything is within a short walk, so you spend your time being photographed, not being driven around.
Do you photograph ceremonies at the Wedding Bowl?
Yes. The Wedding Bowl sits just down the street from the Cuvier Club and the two are the most natural pairing in La Jolla: ocean-view vows, then a ballroom reception. We cover the walk between them as candid, editorial-style images.
When is the best light for photos in La Jolla?
The hour before sunset. The coastline faces west, so golden hour is spectacular nearly year-round. We build your timeline so the couple’s session lands in that window.
How much does Cuvier Club wedding photography cost?
Our current wedding collections are listed on our rates page. Most couples choose a full-day photo and video package.
