Photographing the Alexandria Ballrooms

Built in 1906 at 501 S Spring Street, the Alexandria has hosted presidents and Hollywood legends - and it photographs like it knows it. Marble details, grand chandeliers, vintage textures, and three completely different spaces under one historic roof. We have photographed weddings throughout the Alexandria Ballrooms, and it rewards a photographer who knows where the light lives at each hour.

The Palm Court

The room everyone remembers: a glass ceiling, tall palms, and natural light that makes midday portraits feel like a conservatory in Europe. We use it for ceremonies, first looks, and romantic portraits - if your timeline allows only one portrait window here, take it in daylight.

The King Edward Ballroom

The grandest of the three - detailed ceilings, classic ballroom proportions, chandeliers built for wide, dramatic reception frames. Low, warm light in the evening; we shoot it like a film set, letting the room's scale carry the composition.

The Mezz

Exposed brick, wood textures, industrial lines - the editorial counterpoint to the ballrooms below. Perfect for fashion-leaning couple portraits and relaxed cocktail-hour candids.
