Avalon Hollywood Wedding Photographer
Avalon Hollywood is a 1927 Spanish Baroque theater near Hollywood and Vine — a proscenium stage, tiered balconies and dramatic lighting that make for a bold, cinematic wedding. As a Los Angeles wedding photographer, I love a venue that already feels like a film set the moment you walk in.
A historic Hollywood theater
Opened as the Hollywood Playhouse and later a landmark concert hall, Avalon keeps its ornate stage, balconies and vintage marquee. The rich interior and moody stage lighting give receptions a glamorous, old-Hollywood energy that is hard to replicate.
How we photograph an Avalon wedding
We use the stage and balconies for dramatic wide shots, lean into the colored stage lighting for the dance floor, and step out to the classic marquee for a night portrait with real Hollywood character. It is a venue built for atmosphere.
Planning tip
Theater interiors are dark by design, so we bring lighting that keeps portraits clean while preserving the room mood — and we grab a few frames under the marquee before the night gets busy.
