About the venue

Millwick sits on East 4th Place in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles. The building dates to the 1940s and later served as a cold-storage facility before Marvimon acquired it in 2014 and made it into the venue it is today. The Grand Hall keeps the character of the original structure, with soaring wooden bow truss ceilings studded with skylights, original brick walls and oversized roll-up glass doors that open the room to the outside.

Beyond the hall, the Garden Courtyard is planted with mature trees and vertical gardens, so the venue moves easily between indoors and out. An entry bar called The Fondrevay, a private lounge and a small hidden garden nook give guests more places to settle in, and the Arts District streets just outside add murals and city texture to the day.

We have photographed weddings at Millwick over several years, and it is one of our favorite places in Los Angeles for couples who want a day that feels relaxed, modern and a little editorial. The skylights fill the Grand Hall with soft, even light during the day, so long tables and greenery look beautiful before guests sit down, and the courtyard gives a green, garden feel without leaving the building.

Most days here keep the ceremony and reception at Millwick, and many couples take a short walk into the Arts District for portraits against brick, painted doors and murals.
