About Wayfarers Chapel

Wayfarers Chapel is Lloyd Wright’s landmark all-glass “Tree Chapel” in Rancho Palos Verdes, long one of Southern California’s most iconic wedding sites. Please note it is currently closed: the structure was carefully dismantled in 2024 because of the active Portuguese Bend landslide and is planned for reconstruction at a new, safer site. Couples have long loved its ethereal glass-and-redwood architecture and coastal serenity — but note it is not currently hosting weddings while reconstruction is pending site approval and funding.

Capacity  ·  Historically an intimate glass chapel seating roughly 100 (currently closed)

Catering  ·  Ceremony chapel only — not operating during reconstruction

Budget  ·  Not booking weddings during the closure

Best for  ·  Follow for reopening news; intimate glass-chapel ceremonies when rebuilt

Good to know  ·  The chapel is closed and not hosting weddings — it was dismantled in July 2024 due to the Portuguese Bend landslide.

Photographing Wayfarers Chapel

Historically the all-glass chapel framed by redwoods and ocean light was ideal for airy, natural-light and architectural photography. It is currently unavailable; any coverage would document the rebuild site only.
