Venue 808 Wedding Photography
Set in a converted 1933 produce warehouse at 808 J Street in San Diego’s East Village, directly across from Petco Park, Venue 808 pairs industrial architecture with an urban courtyard feel. The expansive space holds up to 300 seated guests and includes a sunken cocktail lounge, underground speakeasy, and a grove of olive trees strung with fairy lights.
Why Couples Love Venue 808
Couples are drawn to the venue’s blend of raw industrial character and unexpected garden charm. Exposed brick, soaring ceilings, and market string lights give the main hall a downtown loft feel, while the outdoor olive grove and vintage farmhouse add a softer, rustic contrast just steps away. The built-in bar and sunken cocktail lounge give the space a built-for-parties energy that’s hard to replicate in a traditional ballroom.
Getting Ready at Venue 808
Two fully furnished suites give the wedding party private, well-appointed spaces to get ready on-site, so there’s no need to coordinate a separate hotel room nearby. With load-in starting at 11 a.m., couples have a full day to relax and prepare before the ceremony begins.
Couple’s Session
Venue 808’s mix of textures gives us plenty of variety for portraits without leaving the property — exposed brick and industrial steel for moody, editorial-style shots, the sunken cocktail lounge for something unexpected, and the olive grove for a softer, garden-like backdrop under string lights. The underground speakeasy is a favorite for a few dramatic, low-lit frames as well.
Wedding Ceremony
Ceremonies can be arranged in the venue’s flexible main hall or the outdoor olive grove, depending on the mood a couple wants. With standing capacity for up to 1,000 guests and seating for up to 300, Venue 808 can host anything from an intimate ceremony to a large downtown celebration.
Wedding Reception
Receptions take full advantage of the built-in bar, 10 hightop and belly bars, and surround sound system, with built-in tables and seating for 140 guests and room to expand for larger parties. Coastal Cuisine & Cocktail Co. works with each couple to build a fully customized food and beverage menu, from signature cocktails to late-night snacks.
