About the venue

A garden estate built around an 1889 schoolhouse

Green Gables sits on the site of the 1889 Richland School, and the original schoolhouse structure still stands as part of the property today. A landmark “bent-wood” tree, shaped over more than a century, serves as the estate’s signature ceremony backdrop. The property is managed by Trademark Venues, which also runs sister properties we shoot at regularly, including Twin Oaks House & Gardens.

Couples can choose between three ceremony settings — the Natural Forest beneath the landmark tree, the Historic House steps by the bell tower, or a customizable Open-Air space — while the “Heart of the Garden” reception area drapes billowing chiffon amid fountains and statuary. A grand bridal parlor with 30-foot cathedral ceilings and a hidden-door “Gentleman’s Speakeasy” round out the grounds.

Working within Green Gables’ all-inclusive model

Trademark Venues handles in-house day-of coordination for every Green Gables wedding, and we’ve worked alongside vendors like Primo DJ’s and Makeup by Adrianne here. With catering, bar, coordination, parking, and security all bundled into the venue’s all-inclusive model, our own planning stays focused on making the most of the light through the garden across the day.
