Luxury Wedding Venues in Los Angeles

What makes a wedding venue “luxury”? It comes down to three things: architectural pedigree, white-glove service, and genuine exclusivity — a space that cannot be found anywhere else. Los Angeles has no shortage of grand ballrooms, but only a handful of venues combine real historic weight with the kind of privacy and polish that luxury weddings call for. Here are four of our favorite luxury wedding venues in Los Angeles.

1. The Biltmore Los Angeles (Millennium Biltmore)

Located in Downtown Los Angeles, the Millennium Biltmore is a 1920s hotel that has hosted decades of influential events in its glamorous ballrooms, including the launch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Grand Crystal Ballroom seats up to 600 guests beneath a soaring ceiling and hand-painted murals, while the more intimate Emerald Room suits smaller, candlelit receptions. Few Los Angeles venues carry this much old Hollywood history into a single room.

2. Greystone Mansion

Perched in the hills of Beverly Hills, Greystone Mansion is a 1928 Tudor Revival estate built as a gift from oil magnate Edward L. Doheny, with 55 rooms, manicured formal gardens, and sweeping city views. Outdoor ceremonies can seat up to 225 guests on the Formal Garden lawn, and the mansion’s grand staircase and reflection pond give every frame a castle-like sense of scale. It’s one of the most photographed historic estates in Los Angeles for good reason.

3. Bel-Air Bay Club

Set on the bluffs of Pacific Palisades, Bel-Air Bay Club has hosted weddings since 1927, pairing Mediterranean-style architecture with uninterrupted Pacific Ocean views. The Scenic Terrace and bluff-top lawn hold up to 400 seated guests for a ceremony framed entirely by ocean, while the Grand Ballroom’s vaulted ceilings keep that view in sight through dinner and dancing. As a private club, access itself is part of the exclusivity.

4. Oviatt Penthouse

The Oviatt Penthouse is downtown LA’s Art Deco time capsule — a 1928 penthouse built for haberdasher James Oviatt and layered with Lalique glass, etched French windows, and a two-story rooftop terrace above the skyline. Nearly everything in frame is original to the period, so portraits and receptions here read like a 1920s film set rather than a rented ballroom.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a wedding venue “luxury” in Los Angeles? Beyond price, luxury venues combine architectural pedigree — often a restored historic building — full-service or private-club-level hospitality, and genuine exclusivity, meaning limited dates, private access, or membership requirements that keep the experience curated.

How far in advance should we book a luxury LA wedding venue? Venues like Bel-Air Bay Club and Greystone Mansion book well over a year ahead for popular dates, and Bel-Air Bay Club in particular is currently finishing its last 2026 dates with 2027 now open. Start touring as early as possible if you have a specific date or season in mind.

Do luxury venues typically require specific caterers or vendors? Many do. Historic properties and private clubs often work with a short list of approved or in-house caterers and may restrict outside vendors for insurance and preservation reasons, so it is worth confirming the vendor policy during your tour.

How many guests can these luxury venues accommodate? Capacity varies widely by space: Bel-Air Bay Club’s lawn seats up to 400, Greystone Mansion’s Formal Garden holds up to 225 outdoors, and the Millennium Biltmore’s Grand Crystal Ballroom seats up to 600. We are happy to help you match guest count to venue on a planning call.
