A Historic Landmark in Downtown Los Angeles
The Cathedral of Saint Vibiana was constructed in 1876 and remained the official cathedral for the Los Angeles archdiocese until the 1990s.
After the building was severely damaged during the 1994 Northridge earthquake, preservationists worked to save the historic structure. The building was eventually restored and converted into the Vibiana event venue in the early 2000s, preserving one of the few remaining architectural landmarks from early Los Angeles history.
