61. The Las Vegas Strip/Bellagio Fountains - Las Vegas

Overall Recommendations: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars
Best Shoot Timing: Sunset, nighttime
Permit: None
Nearby sights: Eiffel tower, Gazebo at Cesar and Fountains at Bellagio

This is the best spot for engagement photos in the city. It is a stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard south in Clark County, Nevada. Bright lights, dancers dressed in colorful costumes and vibrant hoardings, is The Strip put in words. This is where the famous ‘welcome to Las Vegas' sign is situated, and it is a must take photo spot. The colors at the strip both during the day and night make for the most romantic backdrop for your photos.

Bellagio is a beautiful resort located on the Strip in Paradise, overlooking the Mediterranean-blue lake with spectacular fountains performing a majestic ballet. The hotel has botanical gardens which have five seasonal themes; Chinese New Year, spring, summer, fall and winter. The gardens and the fountains make the Bellagio Resort a perfect pick for engagement photos due to the variety in sceneries. However, if you have to pick one of them, I would recommend the fountains as they are choreographed to music, with a different song for every sequence, setting the right mood for those ‘once in a lifetime’ photos. The downside of this spectacular location is that it gets quite crowded and this might ruin the romance.

Did you find your favorite locations for your engagement session? When planning for your engagement sessions, there are a few things to put into consideration. You have to talk to your partner about how you would like to do the session. Agree about the places, date, time and outfits.

Tips for Finding the Best Engagement Photographers Near Me and Ideal Photo Locations

Photography Session Time

Engagement sessions are significant moments of life. You will use the memories to remember how you felt on that beautiful day. To ensure that the plan goes well, start by discussing the shooting day with your photographer. Our typical engagement session is 3 hours at 2-3 locations with multiple ware changes, mini-engagement sessions are one hour at a single location.

Location

Your location and time. Where would you like to take the session? As a couple that has been together for a long time, you may know some great places. Choose a spot that reminds you of your beautiful moments. It could be in a park where you first met, a restaurant, or at your favorite coffee spot. As long as you are going to enjoy the moment, any place feels right. Over the years, we have photographed in many unique locations, including work places, libraries, and even homes.

Timing

Discuss the best time for the shoot. Morning and evening sessions are our favorite because of the beautiful lighting during sunrise and sunset. An evening photo session is also an excellent idea because of the sunset. Keep in mind that some locations are more crowded on the weekend, whereas others might not allow photography on the weekday.

Wardrobe options and colors

  • Single-colored, patterns not recommended

  • Matching colors are optional

  • Comfortable clothes for a Nature, Beach or Garden locations

  • Formals for Art Deco, Architecture, Modern

Continue your preparations by choosing your outfits. Many couples would love to color-match their clothes; This creates more coherent imagery.  Whether you decide to match your outfits or not, remember that it’s essential to go with a dressing code that will make you stand out from the location you pick. Neutral or single-colored long dress are a great option.

You may also choose something you will be comfortable for a beach or garden locations, especially if you wanted have more active and candid photos. We provide remote wardrobe changing pods during our engagement sessions.

Choose outfits with great textures. You can go with leather, non-patterned scarfs, flowy dresses, and blazers. Remember to pack more clothes for a change.

Makeup and Hair

Choose a makeup style that reflects your style and complements your outfit. If you typically wear a natural and minimal look, stick with that for the engagement session. If you prefer a more dramatic look, go for it!

  1. Consider the location and time of day of the engagement session when choosing your makeup. Opt for a lighter, more natural look for outdoor shoots in bright sunlight. You can opt for a more dramatic look for evening or indoor shoots.

  2. Have a trial run with your makeup artist to test the look and ensure you are happy with the result. Feeling confident and comfortable in your makeup for the shoot is essential.

  3. Make sure your makeup is long-lasting and won't smudge or rub off easily. Use a setting spray or powder to keep your makeup in place.

  4. If you have any skin sensitivities or allergies, let your makeup artist know ahead of time so they can use suitable products.

  5. Bring touch-up items, such as blotting papers, lip balm, and a compact, to the shoot if you need to make any adjustments.

  6. Don't forget to hydrate your skin before the shoot, and use a good moisturizer to give your skin a healthy and radiant glow.

  7. Apply the look and see your appearance. If you are pleased with the results, save the makeup style for your big day. Once you decide, it’s time to choose your hairstyle. For your hair, choose a type that defines your appearance. You know which hairstyle is better. There are many other hairstyles to choose from, including a simple low ponytail, low bun, loose bun with curls, etc.

Makeup and Hair FAQ

Where should I do the Makeup and Hair?

You can travel to the makeup artist or contact your MUA to come to your home or hotel.

I don’t typically wear makeup, how heavy should I wear the Makeup

If you are doing a trial makeup for your wedding, please note that the level of makeup refinements can be much higher for the wedding day. If you are unsure about how much makeup to wear, inform your MUA your typical makeup usage and just add a bit more.

How long does it take?

Most of our makeup and hair sessions for women takes 1-2 hours and with hair 1.5-2.5 hours, so please make sure that you plan accordingly. You may also bring your makeup and hair artist along for the shoot.

Should the groom be wear makeup too?

It’s up to you, or let’s say its up to him. Often the MUA is able to improve hair, eye brown, and apply fine amount of foundation for the groom. No, it’s not typically complimentary.

Can We Bring Pets?

After setting your plans, polish your engagement preparation. Decide if you will include props to tell your story through pictures. For instance, bring along a dog you both love or a cat you bought together. Please also bring someone to help with your pet, so we can get photos without them as well. We once had a horse on the beach, we were hoping for some amazing photos, but it had to be a leash and it was really difficult to photograph.
